There is good reason that, as a Language Service Provider, we specialize in translations for industry and engineering. The specialization in technical translations is part of our quality concept. High-quality translations make technical documents such as User's Manuals, Operating Instructions, Manuals etc., that describe your product, intelligible to users in those countries and languages, where your systems and processes are used. Therefore, it is crucial that technical translations are made by specialized translators who know what they do, both from a language and a technical point of view.
We make technical translations for all fields of activity and into all languages of the world. Besides Operating Instructions, Maintenance Manuals, Product Specifications and Data Sheets we carry out, of course, high-quality translations of a series of other document types, such as patents, specialist articles, training material, etc. We are equally versed in software localization. The translation of software requires, in addition to a correct and telling translation of the technical content, to take into adequate account the functional requirements of user guidance. This is particularly true for the software translation of apps and of multilanguage user interfaces in the machine building and medical equipment domains. In website localization we ensure with great care that the intercultural requirements regarding the culture of the target language be respected.
In addition to purely technical translations, industrial companies need, of course, also legal translations, such as the translation of contracts, patent issues, etc. For this purpose we collaborate naturally with legal translators that have a pertinent specialization.
As a professional translation service we attach importance to the fact that our translations are made by appropriately trained technical resp. legal translators. To this effect we rely on an internal Quality Management System that complies with the requirement of the standard for Language Service Providers ISO 17100. Translation software is used exclusively to support human translation processes, like through the use of Translation Memory Systems that are customary in the trade, and which store for a later customer-specific re-use human translations after they were released. The management of your technical terms is accomplished with our Terminology Management System «nexus tBase». Terminology work is a central tool of our Quality Insurance, because it alone enables a correct and coherent use of technical terms. Together with the Translation Management System, a properly maintained terminology database improves the quality of the translation process and helps at the same time to reduce translation costs.
After bigger corporations, now also medium-sized businesses take advantage from the current trend towards cloud-based solutions. Instead of maintaining your company-specific technical terms in a local Translation Memory System, which often was available only to the Translations Department, today it has become possible to create a uniform technical terminology throughout the company. Ideally all pertaining company departments contribute to it as well as the external language service that is connected to the company. This affects the quality of your single and multilanguage documentation positive and helps to reduce the costs of its production and translation. Since 2014 nexus | Multilanguage Technical Documentations owns with «nexus tBase» a cloud-based Terminology Management System, into which we selectively integrate our customers and translators in order to shorten process times, inhance quality and reduce costs.
The costs of a technical translation or any other specialist translation vary depending of the language combination, the volume and the subject. To be able to make an assessment, we need the related file(s) in an editable format (such as MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign, HTML). In case of XML files we need the pertinent schema. The volume of text documents is measured by the number of words contained in them. In the case of PDF files or other graphical material we can provide an approximate assessment of the volume. Some specific document types such as lists or similar need to evaluated differently. Of course you can express a desired deadline for submission. A binding deadline can be confirmed by us after we clarified the time availability of our collaborators on the grounds of a firm commissioning commitment on your side.

We are a professional translation service exactly because the founder our company, Dott. Matt Fischer, put his faith in a specialized language service for the industry and engineering from the very beginning – since 1987.
In the beginning our company acted as a professional translation service for technical translations in a few language combinations. All along the accurate compilation of the company-specific technical terms was at the center of our language mediation. Thus it is no surprise that still today technical terminology is one of our strengths.
Since 1993 Translation Management Systems are part of the tools we use. Back then the company purchased for their customers the first Translation Memory System, the Translation Manager TM/2®, which had been launched by IBM® only shortly before.
Since 1997 Technical Writing completes the company’s services around the Technical Documentation.
